Skirmish in Doggerland

Long ago, in Doggerland (now under the North Sea for thousands of years) Grug (pictured below) leads the fox tribe, and the fox tribe who were hungry.

Grug and the crone went to the stone circle, where after staring into the sun for too long, the fox spirit told Grug where food was to be found.

There was the carcass of a baby mammoth, still quite fresh, well reasonably fresh, one day from the camp. There was a catch, however,  the food was right on the border of Neolithica, where the mosters were said to roam.

Undaunted the tribe's hunters, and the crone set off.
After a day, Grug spots dinner, right where the fox spirit told him it would be.

Well, when we said fresh...

What's this, the old stories were true; monsters!

If that weren't bad enough, the smell of food has brought a huge cave-bear called "Shardik" (for some reason).
 The monsters roar.

 The cave bear roars.

Jig, the acrobatic wets himself.

Grug remands the hunters that the fox spirit has promised them food.

The old stories tell that the monsters can be beaten with javelins...

Apparently, the monsters had not head those stories and Aak takes a beating.

One by one the hunters try to take on the monsters, supported by the crone who yells spells and scatters digitalis. The monsters seem invulnerable to flint.

While jig, freezes in front of Shardik, if he doesn't move, the bear might not notice him.

The hunters flint weapons just seem to make the monsters angry
However, Shardik, ambles over to see what all the noise is a about, causing the monsters to freeze for a  while.

The fox tribe have the carcas for now

But, the monsters are unstoppable.

The fox tribe choose life over dinner, and run in the direction of the camp.

The humans and monsters are from the new Lucid Eye range, and they are awesome.

The rules were Battlesworn from Ganesha games.

The Neanderthals were a mixture of brutes and tanks with a leader. The humans were fighters, shooters (using my javelin rules), a healer, an acrobat, and a useless warmage.
